Busy week for ANET Lab members, participating in the 18th Annual Meeting of the Hungarian Regional Science Association, the Hungarian section of ERSA. Head of the Lab, Balázs Lengyel hosted a special session on "Innovation and Development in Linked Regions", and also discussed joint work with EU Joint Research Centre on M&A networks across European regions. Lab members Gergő Tóth and Zoltán Elekes presented research on how technological network robustness conditions the economic resilience of metro regions in Europe (see working paper). Finally, Zoltán Elekes gave a keynote on how foreign-owned firms act as agents of structural change in regions (see related work here and here).
