As part of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences' Hungarian Science Festival of 2021, ANET Lab research fellow Zoltán Elekes was one of the recipients of the Bárány Róbert Award of the Eötvös Lóránd Research Network. The Award was established to recognize the work of young scholars across scientific disciplines. Zoltán received the award for his first-authored publication on "Foreign-owned firms as agents of structural change in regions". This work contributes to evolutionary economic geography by investigating the role of foreign-owned firms in inducing unrelated diversification of economic activities in regions.
